The Warlock class is great to play. They are dark casters with shadow and fire spells at their hand. They basically have powers from ‘the dark side’ which also brings them in touch with demonology. With the demonology abilities Warlocks are able to summon a few types of demons which serve them as their pets, like an imp, fel hound, succubus, void walker and infernal. This makes the Warlock one of the two classes (Hunter being the second one) that is able to have a pet at his side at almost all times.
To have a pet near you will make the game easier and will help you avoid damage most of the times. When it comes to their offensive abilities, Warlocks are damage dealers and their main spells, like shadow bolts, can cause a lot of damage. A Warlock however is very well known for ability to fear his enemies which make them run around like chicken without heads. On top of that the Warlock has several “damage over time” spells (DoTs) which deal good amounts of damage over a specific amount of time. Click here to watch the video: WoW Warlock
Because of these spells, a good Warlock is feared in PvP, and can top damage meters in PvE. In PvP a Warlock can fear his opponents while applying dots on his target an in PvE he can spam Shadow Bolts and other great spells.
Apart from damage dealing spell, Locks have many other useful skills. The most popular one is definitely the ability create a summoning portal – the Dark Portal. The Warlock can summon a Dark Portal which can then be used to summon other players from anywhere on the world to the Dark Portal. He will need a hand to summon a player. The Dark Portal can basically be used similar to the meeting stones that can be found in front of instances.
Another helpful ability a Lock has is to place a Soul Stone on a friendly player or himself. If a player is Soul Stoned he can resurrect on the spot upon death. This spell comes very useful because it saves time of corps running and it has a cooldown of 30 minutes. While leveling it is great because the Warlock can keep it on himself all the time and if he is in a party the Soul Stone can be cast on a player that can resurrect others. A Warlock can also create Health Stones which function as healing potions and are actually more powerful because they restore more hit points. On lower levels, a Lock is able to give these Health Stones separately to other players while on a higher level he can even create a special well – the Soul Well where his whole raid group can obtain a HS just by clicking on it. In a fight that is longer, Health Stones come in as really handy since they don’t share the same cooldown as the health potions.
Warlocks are a very fun and interesting class to play. Not only that you will have the abilities to summon many different demons as pets to fight for you, you will also have very destructive and strong damage spells, abilities to fear the enemies, and a couple of other very useful spells that will greatly improve your group’s performance. If you like to play with casting classes and want an easy time leveling up, the Warlock class is a great one to chose!

This WoW warlock guide will illustrate to you the main pros and cons of creating this character class. Warlocks are well known for their fire and shadow magic spells and particularly for the ability to summon and command demons. Casting unholy spells of pain and suffering are a warlock’s stock in trade. Though they are unable to go head to head in a melee fight, they easily compensate for it by casting damaging spells from a reasonable distance. Many talents depend on the utilization of soul shards, which a warlock has to obtain from slaying enemies. The warlock class is easy to level quickly since they’re incredibly self sufficient when playing solo. In a group, warlocks are often the biggest damage dealers.
Permissible races for warlocks are Blood Elves, Humans, Undead, Gnomes, and Orcs. Since warlocks are a caster class, they are only allowed to equip cloth armor. Weapon-wise, warlocks are restricted to just using wands, swords (some), staves, and daggers.
Probably the coolest power of the warlock is the summoning of demonic minions (including the Imp, Voidwalker, Succubus, Felhunter, Infernal, Doomguard, and Felguard). All of the various minions can be useful, but you will need to measure the advantages of using each of them based on the job at hand. Warlocks primarily use damage over time (DoT) and direct damage (DD) spells, but they also possess many specialty spells which can be handy including summoning Soul Stones. They are able to make use of soul shards in order to produce a variety of items and to perform resurrection on fallen comrades. They can heal themselves using life tap and/or drain life, and also possess several crowd control spells (CC’s) like fear or howl of terror. Warlocks are able to acquire mounts at a much lower price than the other classes because they are summoned with magic and not simply purchased.
The Affliction talent tree uses talents that are designed to bolster a warlock’s curses, drains and damage over time spells. This talent tree works best for raiding, boss killing, and farming. Affliction is the spec to take when you are trying to power-level your warlock as fast as possible.
The Demonology talent specialization concentrates mainly on spells and bonuses for your demonic minions that make them stronger and more lethal. The Demonology specialization is particularly useful for player versus player and overall survivability. It is also good for leveling, though it is not really as efficient as the Affliction spec. If you want to build the most powerful minions, Demonology is the specialization you want.
The Destruction spec uses talents that amplify the effectiveness of the warlock’s fire and shadow spells, which are mostly direct damage (DD) spells that can be used to quickly take out one mob. This talent tree is difficult to use at lower levels and is more often played after players get to higher levels. Although you are able to do great damage, there are some downsides to this spec that need to be considered. You’ll require a bunch of soul shards, you will go through mana really quickly, and playing solo is often really tough. On the flip side, it is a lot of fun.
