Flipping is a way of getting items on the auction house then reselling them for a higher price. I usually set my buy price at least double what i payed for it. Also, make sure you take into account any auction house fees you paid, as these cut into your profits.
You can make alot gold by choosing the best professions. If you are interested in making money stick with the gathering professions. Skinning and mining are very easy to level and the items you get can sell very well. when mining you should check your auction house to see if raw ores or smelted ores sell better. This can vary by server, and even changes from time to time. Ususally i find the raw ores sell better, as they are used by blacksmiths who just dont want to spend the time farming for materials, and by jewelcrafters for prospecting. However I have seen some servers where smelted ores generally sold better.
With the introduction of Inscriptioning, herbalism can also be very profitable.
Not all ores in WoW are worth the same amount of gold. While mining any kind of ore is likely to be popular, concentrating on the most valuable ores will surely let you earn more gold faster. Let’s quickly talk about which ores are most worth mining for both lower-level and higher-level characters.
If you are going to be mining with a relatively low-level character, Mithril and Thorium are the ores for you. Both are valuable as ores or as bars and sell well in the Auction House. But if you have access to a Jewelcrafter, you can do even better. That’s because the gems that are produced from these ores are much more valuable than the raw ore itself.
Saronite is the main mineral of the Wrath of the Lich King. All of the metal-using professions need quantities of this mineral for their leveling and crafting, making it a great seller. Add in the fact that many important gems are prospected from this ore, and the demand for Saronite is truly huge.
Titanium is the most valuable ore of all. Despite being exceedingly rare, it is a vital ingredient for the majority of the high-level Jewelcrafter and Engineer recipes. Given those two characteristics, you can see why Titanium is so incredibly valuable.
