The American press claims this is the second inappropriate present Obama gives. A few weeks ago he gave to another Britain official, Gordon Brown, a set of 25 classic movies on DVD. A young girl from Brighton, England has had profanities squawked at her by a toy parrot that her mother Tina brought for her.
Tina brought the parrot from a toy shop when her daughter was throwing a paddy and hoped that it would help keep her quite. But when she gave the toy over to her daughter and pulled the cord for her, the toy parrot’s first words were “Oi! What are you looking at a***hole.Tina was very much taken aback, but wondering if what happened had just been her imagination, she made the parrot speak again. This time, the parrot squawked but then followed up with “Sod off, sod off”. This led to a vast amount of embarrassment for Tina as everyone in the area turned to see where the profanities were coming from. To avoid further glares from by-standers, Tina quickly moved on to another shopping area.
Tina later tested the toy to see what other profanities the parrot would come out with.A number of the worst were “I’m going to rip your head off and s**t down your neck.” and “Oi! B****r off.It is simple not acceptable for toys like this to be available for people to buy when all they are after is something innocent for their children says Tina. She also mentioned that she will be sticking to dolls house toys from now on.
Commercial director if the 99p stores, Hussian Lalanu has said sorry and admitted the toy should never have been on sale in the toy section. He has assured shoppers that the incident will be well looked into. Brighton and Hove City Council’s trading standards will also be investigating the story.
