We live in a very stressful and busy world. Between our jobs, and our family, we barely have any time left for ourselves. Not only is this bad for the mind, but it is bad for the body as well. Relaxation time is very important, and a mere 30 minutes a day can do wonders for your psychic and body.
One of the most relaxing activities we can find is listening to music. This helps relax our body as well as our mind. Gender or age doesn’t matter when it comes to listening to music, as all people enjoy it the same.
Mobile Mp3 players have become more and more common, so people can listen to music wherever they are, not only at home. Of course, listening to music in the subway does not compare to listening to it in your own home, but, wherever you are, listening to it soothes the body and soul.
Mp3 players have also become more advanced, and allow for much more than just music. Photos, and even videos have become playable on most modern Mp3 players, and they are now called Portable Media Players.

Also, headphones have gotten smaller and smaller, so no one will even know you’re wearing them. Sight-reading music is a common practice among piano players. This is when you play a piece of music for the first time, even though it may be unfamiliar to you. Though it is not common to play a song perfectly the first time through, here are 8 tips to make sight-reading music easier for you.
Tip # 1. Key Signature. The key signature of the piece of music that you are about to play requires special attention. Having the correct sharps and flats committed to memory makes your play much smoother and accurate.
Tip # 2. Time Signature. This is another basic characteristic of every piece of music that you must understand in order to sight-read. You will need to know what kind of note gets one beat. You will also need to remember how many beats are in each measure.
Tip # 3. Changes in Key and Time Signatures. Check through your music for any changes to the key signature or time signature. Not knowing about a transition will obviously affect the quality of your play.
Tip # 4. Starting and Ending Notes. It helps if you are familiar with the starting and ending note or chord of a song before you start playing. These are good reference points to guide you during your sight-reading.
Tip # 5. Note the Rhythm. Refer to tip # 6 as well. It is easy to play simple melody notes. What makes for a much more interesting sound is the addition of chords, or the rhythm. As you look through the song, you usually can get an idea of how it will go. Knowing the rhythm up front makes the whole piece easier to play.
Tip # 6. Play the Melody First. Also look through the right hand melody line. It helps to play just the melody first if possible. This will help give you an idea of the sound of the song and then you can put it all together and you will be able to identify the unique melodic line.
Tip # 7. Check for Other Markings. Look through the entire piece and check for any other markings covered in Music Terminology. Some examples include the loudness or softness of the piece, the speed of the music, and how long you should actually hold each note that is played.
Tip # 8. Relax and Focus. This last tip is so important. Take a deep breath and relax yourself. Focus on what you are about to play. Try to play the song all the way through for your first sight-reading. This gives you a general idea of what the song will sound like. Later you can break it down and work on each measure or group of measures as you see fit. Keep in mind that we are playing music for the love of it, not as a chore.
Maybe you are asking yourself why you should learn to sight-read music. Why not just learn the song a little bit at a time? Sight-reading forces you to move forward at a faster pace until you finish the song, ultimately helping you learn to play music faster. You can avoid bad habits of starting and stopping too often and delaying your progress on a specific piece of music. Sight-reading is an important skill to learn if you wish to become a good piano player.

One of the best things about the Internet is that you can now download music. often times for free, and add it to your MP3 player in just seconds! There are some good free sites, but be careful when downloading from a free site, the quality is not always great. And sometimes those “free” sites include spyware or malware with your download. For free downloads, BeeMP3 is a good site.com for free downloads. It is very good quality.
But often times, you have to pay for music if you want the quality and peace of mind. Amazon has a terrific selection and the price is not too bad, $0.79 to $0.99 per song.
(I am only talking about MP3 downloads and Windows-based products and information. I am not familiar with Apple products, sorry to all you Apple fans.)!)
There are other free sites out there that I have used to download music, but they are not quite legitimate, and one of the sites I like is always getting into legal trouble with their government for copyright issues (the site is based somewhere in Europe). So, I am a bit leery of recommending or linking to that site, or any other sites that are questionable.
And my recommendation for the best MP3 player on the market today is the Zune from Microsoft. There are plenty of MP3 products on the marketplace today, and there are products that are cheaper than the Zune, but they just do not have the capacity nor the ease of use that the Zune offers. And it is targeted to people who want to amass a huge music library on your computer and your portable player as well. I have maxed out my 80 GB, and have had to remove some files so I could add more songs. Maybe Santa will get me the 120 next Christmas.
And if you are a bit confused with all the technical jargon, I’ve written an e-book about how to create a digital music library on your computer and on your MP3 player. The e-book provides an easy method to collect a state-of-the-art digital music library that is inexpensive, totally portable, and occupies very little space.
Happy music downloading, enjoy!
On March 3, 2009, U2 released their 12th studio album, No Line on the Horizon.
It’s been a while since their last release, 2004′s How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, but it was worth the wait. The album features 11 songs with the best of classic U2 music.
The Irish rockers get back to basics with their strongest offering in years. It was recorded in Dublin, New York, London and Fès, Morocco. And the good news is that Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois, and Steve Lillywhite all helped to produce the album. But I don’t think this is the best U2 album since Eno and Lanois first worked with the band on 1984′s The Unforgettable Fire.
Magnificent, with its drum crescendos, trademark guitar riffs, and a soaring Bono vocal, is easily the best song on the album and is the second single to be released. The first release, Get On Your Boots, is a good song; this is the single the band performed at the Grammys on February 8.Get on Your Boots is a fun, foot-tapping track. However, Boots only hit No. 37 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Breathe incorporates the band’s classic approach but still sounds contemporary. And the albums ends on a sad, thoughtful note with Cedars Of Lebanon, a song about war and violence. The band still has a sense of humour with lyrics such as “the right to appear ridiculous is something I hold dear” in the song, I’ll Go Crazy If I Don’t Go Crazy Tonight.
But sales have not been as high as anticipated since its release on March 3.The album only sold 484,000 copies in its first week of sales. Not too many bands would consider 484,000 albums sold a disappointing number. However, U2 is not just any band. The Irish band’s last album, 2004′s How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, sold 840,000 copies in the first week.
Even though some of the songs are not that great, overall, I think No Line on the Horizon is a worthy addition to U2′s collection.

It can’t be denied that status is everything in this modern age. Besides the housing and jewelry, technological device is also thing that can correspond to person’s status. One of technological device that becomes a status symbol is Apple iPhone. It becomes necessary by the social perception pressure. This gadget has become must-have on behalf of reputation though it may not exactly be compulsary.
When talking about Apple iPhone first began to circulate all over the technological world, it was nominated as one of the biggest must-haves of 2007. When it became a reality, once Apple set a release date, it was already sold-out. From pre-orders and online sales to on-sight, the first shipment of iPhones was gone before anyone had the chance to discern or decide whether it was worth the hundreds of dollars or not.
In any case, there is a doubt whether Apple iPhone value as its price tag or it just another achievement for its marketing and advertising. Only time that can answer. So far, Apple iPhone has been met with mixed reviews, though several consumers live and die by the device.
Behind the Name
As a brand name, Apple has become a staple of technology. From the iMac to the iPod, it is the top achievement of multimedia devices. In a sense, it is not worth buying an mp3 player except it is an iPod, or a laptop unless it is a PowerBook. While the prices of Apple gadgets are steep, the company seems to defend the price. Cheaper devices rarely do well in the face of Apple products, and costumers are eager to dig hundreds more for one of the items.
This is due in part to Apple’s marketing, but also to its consistency. The company has proven that its products are durable, lifelong and cutting edge and third-party companies release their products ultimately to be compatible with Apple products. For a costumer, this means that buying Apple promises only the best.
So, what about the Apple iPhone? While it is a technological wonder, combining an iPod, internet browser and cell phone all at once in a sleek, sexy package with a touch screen and virtual keyboard that makes geeks drool, it is expensive and frequently, pointless. For those who already own an iPod and a cell phone, not much else is gained with the Apple iPhone save the convenience of having it all in one place.
In 2007, Apple iPhone was nominated as the best invention. As a result, Apple made the consumers who in fact don’t have need of it just had to buy it to save their statuses. Apple has verified that anything it releases is golden, and every time it is time to buy a new technological device its products stay on the top of list.

Okay, so I’m probably the one of the few people who don’t really get into American Idol. When the show made it’s premier I saw all the hype and thought it would never live up to expectations. When the second season rolled around I realized I couldn’t be more wrong. Every year the show seems to get bigger, and more copycat shows come out like Dancing with the Stars. Why good old television can’t make a comeback I don’t know.
Now 7 seasons later and it’s bigger than ever. It’s a very coveted time slot for advertisers to get their products in since it’s audience runs the gamut from teens to grandmas.I have to admit though that this season may end up being a guilty pleasure. My girlfriend is an addict and generally once I watch 4 or 5 shows I get hooked on something.
I love see watching the beginning shows for the awful performances of wanna be idols. By this time around those people who sound horrible on the show must just be looking for their 15 minutes of fame. There are a few really talented people on this season including Anoop Desai, Allison Iraheta, and Alexis Grace.
I can admit that it’s great that there are many talented people who get found because they are on the show, but the whole reasoning behind it is kind of tainted in my mind. Many many talented artists out there work hard everyday to get the big one and have no hope of ever getting a contract, but these “idols” seem to have it served on a silver spoon.Almost everyone who has ever won the show is a bum now, except Kelly Clarkson from season 1. But this could be it, my season to fall in love with this natural phenomena, I just hope it doesn’t cut into my sleep too much. I can’t wait to see who makes it all the way to the end.
For several years now, Apple’s ipod has been the leader in the digital media player (DMP) market. And for good reason, ipod is a good product with great performance and features.
But Microsoft’s introduction of the Zune, the company’s MP3 DMP player, Apple is facing some serious competition. The Zune released in late 2006.The Zune has become very popular over the past two years since its introduction. Also, the Zune and the ipod are priced about the same and they both have many similar features. However, there are some things that the Zune has that the ipod does not:
Below are the list of features supported by Zune and not ipod (based on a comparison of a 30GB Zune and a 30GB ipod:
- Landscape video
- Preloaded Audio and video
- Built in FM tuner
- Social networking
- Custom background
In addition, the Zune features file sharing and Wi-Fi (wireless) support.Zune has the ability to wirelessly share and play songs, videos, and pictures with other Zunes. Zune will be able to hold 7,500 songs, 25,000 pictures, or 100 hours of video. Microsoft will definitely take a big chunk of the MP3 player market form Apple, especially since a lot more people use a PC than a Mac, so that may be a big factor in how well the Zune performs in the marketplace.
I highly recommend the Zune, I have an 80GB and I love it! I’ve already maxed out all 80 GBs of space. Recently, Microsoft introduced a 120 GB Zune
Other nifty features include the subscription-based Zune Marketplace, which allows you to access an online database of new music without having to download it first to your computer. Zune is one of the first real portable media players. Also, Zune Marketplace allows users to download as many songs as you want for a flat monthly fee.
