There’s not much to say when you see a big add in the paper saying: Learn Japanese in one week, expect for smiling. Trying to reduce the time a new language takes to learn it’s natural and everyone would like to do that. But reduce it to one week? It’s important to not throw yourself in a mindless quest like the one of looking for language guides that can teach you a language in one week, because such guides do not really exist. The only way is to learn the language properly and in time.
Learning a language online is a really good option. Of course that teacher held classes in Universities or other locations can be useful, but these classes are very far sometimes and must be attended at certain hours. It’s hard to go to such a class when you don’t feel well, you don’t fell like learning or you have other more important things to do. In case of online learning, this aspects are no longer relevant. You can learn when you feel able to and have to necessary time.
It’s better to divide the session over more months, not just one month of intensive learning People who learn slowly will actually learn better and easier. Even coping some music in the language you want to learn on your ipod will help, if you turn the volume on the ipod speakers at reasonable levels so it won’t interfere with other enjoyable activities. Remember all these tricks because if you don’t you risk trying to learn the wrong way.
Every one focuses on the fun part of learning. Anything that is fun can be learnt in 10 minutes, like word puzzles. For busy people that are already stressed enough from work, playing a language game for 15 minutes during a break can be the optimal solution. It will take you longer to learn the language, but you will learn it without much effort.
The American president, Barack Obama has been quite criticized by his our press after he decided to give the Queen an iPod. The gift was given during a meeting held at Buckingham palace. The idea of giving the iPod was that of getting the Queen back some memories from her visit done in the USA a couple of years ago, but also to familiarize her with new policies and ideas of the USA, through the numerous speeches the American president included on the device.
Officials in the White house claim that Obama made another gift for the Queen, which consist in a rare audio book of Richard Rodgers. He received a gift from the Queen as well, but sadly it was nothing special, just a plain photo of her and Prince Philip, framed and signed, the usual gift she gives to all foreign presidents and officials that visit the palace.
Because the American president really tried hard to provide a special and priceless gift to the Queen, and he got in return just a simple photo, he must’ve felt pretty bad. Still, he remained happy-looking and no one suspected anything about the uncomfortable situation.
The American press claims this is the second inappropriate present Obama gives. A few weeks ago he gave to another Britain official, Gordon Brown, a set of 25 classic movies on DVD. Nice present, but too bad they were only fit for American video systems and don’t really work well on European players. Let’s only hope that Obama remembered to include an ipod mini battery , so that the Queen doesn’t have to go out and buy one herself if she wants to listen to anything on the device.
Obama was not the first person in the world to get the Queen an ipod. Sources say that she has one already, also received as a gift in an official meeting, full of classical tunes she like so much. Even if the situation at this official meeting was a bit odd and many newspapers commented on it, it looks like both the Queen and Obama were having a wonderful time.
