One of the most fun things about Halloween for Baby are the costumes. But costumes for Baby these days can be so expensive! It seems like such a shame to spend all of that money on something your child will only wear once. Fortunately there are costumes you can make for your child. You can create a fun and adorable Halloween costume for your kid, even if you aren’t the “crafty” type.

Begin by “shopping” in your child’s closet. Every child has their own personal style, likes and dislikes. As you look through your child’s closet, a costume idea may come to you. Have a piece of paper and pen with you as you go through the closet to brainstorm your ideas. A girl or boy in dance classes could easily wear their dance costumes as a Halloween costume – to be a ballerina or another fun costume without other needed accessories. Other ideas may come to you as you look through your child’s closet.

Tip 1 – Don’t be overwhelmed by those complex animatronics props you see in professional haunted houses. Some day you may want to build those, but for now, start small. The first thing you might want to do is observe some animatronics in action. A great way to do this is to keep your eyes open whenever you go to the grocery store, hardware store, or craft store. Watch for any moving displays. If you stay alert, you will often see rotating signs advertising in-store specials. They’re usually cardboard signs attached to a motor that is powered by a couple of small batteries. Look inside of them. Go around back and see how they are assembled. A goldmine for checking out moving objects is any store that sets up holiday displays. Study those displays and you will learn a lot. You will see that most of them operate with very simple motors and levers.

New Christmas pajamas is another tradition that evokes good memories and adorable pictures. If gifts are opened Christmas morning, let the children open one gift Christmas Eve – the new Christmas pajamas. Consider having a slumber party while waiting for Santa! Dress everyone in a new pair of Christmas pajamas and play games, sing Christmas carols, or watch Christmas movies during your Christmas Eve festivities.

Some children may be interested in a career. They may want to be a newspaper reporter or dress like a soldier in the army or a fashion model. These are all costumes you can accessorize their current clothing with features to make them look fun. The newspaper reporter would have a newspaper and a stenograph sized notebook with a pen. Newspaper reporters tend to dress kind of “preppy” and they could ask for a quote or the real story. A soldier would dress in army fatigues or camouflage. This could be enhanced with Halloween makeup at the drugstore. A fashion model could wear a trendy outfit and some minor cosmetics. Add some costume jewelry and/or a pair of  high heels. Have her or him pose for their photo as they Trick or Treat.

Making costumes for Baby can be easy and fun once you realize the options available to you. Once you start to look you may discover there are several costume ideas in front of you. For best results, involve your child in the costume decision making as they will get excited and want to wear the chosen costume even more now that they have had a hand in creating it. They will have pride wearing their Halloween costume that is special and unique

Maybe you are planning a romantic weekend, or possibly, you are going on a long business trip. Perhaps you are jetting off to Hawaii or maybe you’ve rented a dreamy chalet in the snow? Wherever you are flying-off to – you’ll need to make sure you pack your adult toys well to avoid any embarrassing (and possibly very public) situations.

So, how do you pack adult toys? Firstly, you need to remove the batteries. Even though you may think that your vibrator is difficult to turn on, a little shift in the contents of your luggage could easily knock the control to the ON position. You really don’t want to have to explain what is vibrating in your luggage to security personnel or customs officers. Dildos are less of a problem in this respect as they are usually made of silicone / jelly / rubber and have no metal or mechanical parts.

Place your dildos, penis-rings,  or vibrators in clear plastic baggies. Airport personnel routinely go through luggage so if you’re chosen at random for a luggage inspection, you’ll be glad your toys are zip-locked away. Customs staff always wear plastic gloves, but you really don’t want their gloves, which have been touching everyone else’s personal items, to touch your intimate toys too. Do the airport staff and yourself a huge favour and place each item in a clear plastic zip baggie to keep everything hygienic.

Always place your vibrators in your checked luggage. This just removes you from the situation a little bit. If you bring a vibrator in your carry-on luggage, well, you are just asking for an embarrassing situation to occur.

Bear in mind also that vibrators are not permitted in certain countries – especially if they are shaped like a phallus. If you take one in your checked-in luggage – you may have to go through the red channel and declare it – and it may be confiscated. One such country where ‘obscene items’ are illegal is Thailand. There, you might get away with importing a traditional slimline vibrator and pass it off as a ‘massager’ for your bad back – however, if your vibe is penis-shaped, expect that it will be confiscated!

In the USA, Texan customs officers will not be sympathetic if you have a suitcase full of vibes – to own more than three such ‘marital aids’ is currently illegal in that state. Therefore, do a quick Google check of what the laws are in the particular state or country you are travelling to.

Finally, don’t travel with your favourite vibe or with your top of the range most-expensive toy. It is best that you take along an inexpensive alternative or buy something completely new especially for the trip. At sites like LoveTheRabbit.com you’ll find many pink rabbit vibrator articles, information, raves and reviews and links to stores that stock them.

That way, if your luggage is lost, or your toy is confiscated or if your vibe breaks in transit – you will not have lost your favourite ‘friend’ or your most expensive toy. Bon voyage!

Where do you want to go for your Christmas holiday? Well two holidays have really been standing out, and it looks as though they will be the most popular this year. There has been a cruise revolution of the last decade. It has managed to shake off the old conception of being something only enjoyable to those who have retired and have a bit of money to burn, rather than leave it to anyone in their will. Cruise companies have diversified and now offer not only a much larger range of destinations but also theme, length, price, quality and demographic. What this has meant is that more people are able to enjoy a cruise these days…and they certainly are, with more cruise goers than there have ever been before.

The UK are those at the forefront of this move off of terra firma. Britain has also been a sea-loving nation and it seems they have been proving it by racking up a huge 1.6 million cruise booking just this last year. This makes up a staggering 30% of all cruise bookings from the whole of Europe. Only Germany has a vague chance of challenging this title with a total of 21% market share according to results from a study conducted by Silversea Cruises at the Seatrade cruise convention in Miami.

The Atlantic Islands and the areas of the Mediterranean were top of the list when it came to most popular cruises locations for Europeans. Which just goes to show that nobody can resist a bit of sunbathing and pure waters. There is actually no need for you to step foot off the vessel these days to find entertainment and enjoyment. Most good luxury cruises are equipped with multiple swimming pools, dining halls, theatres and even golf courses.

“There has been a gross increase (around 60%) in the number of Europeans taking cruises over the last five years…a trend that is set to continue” says chairman of the ECC and CEO of Peter Deilmann Cruises, David Dingle.

According to Dingle, there are currently 17 new cruise ships being constructed for European companies and will all enter the market by 2012.

Bring to mind Nottingham and mostly all tourists remember the legend of Sir Robin Hood, his merry men and the Sherrif of Nottingham and even though the legend attracts increasing numbers of tourists year after year there is much more to Nottinghamshire and the city of Nottingham than meets the eye. Infact Nottingham has a respectable collection of fascinating local attractions making it an excellent place for a family vacation and the following article introduces the city and a small number of visitor attractions in, and close to, Nottingham, as well as some places offering Nottingham B&B accommodation.

Nottingham is located in Nottinghamshire, in the East Midlands, England, UK. As well as the legend of Sir Robin Hood, his merry men and Sherwood Forest, Nottingham is also known for the lace business especially at the time of the Industrial Revolution when it gained a worldwide reputation for excellence.

Nottingham Lace Market

Once the heart of the worldwide lace industry, during the time of the British Empire, the Lace Market is, today, a protected heritage area. The area  is home to numerous fantastic examples of industrial architecture of the Nineteenth Century. The market wasn’t like a normal market area, rather than having stalls and salesmen, the lace market was more a selection of salesrooms and warehouses displaying and selling lace. After the downturn in the lace industry the market became derelict however, today, most of the old warehouses have been renovated for alternative use such as photographic studios and the likes. The Nottingham Lace Market is a popular tourist attraction.

Shire Hall & Galleries of Justice

Nearby the Lace Market you will discover the Galleries of Justice situated in Shire Hall. The Hall is a Georgian-built building which features Neoclassical columns, pilasters and dome. The facade has, if you examine it closely, a misspelled word Goal rather than Gaol. The Hall has two superbly preserved Victorian courtrooms plus old cells, bath house, a women’s prison, an Edwardian police station and a prisoner’s exercise yard.

The City of Nottingham is a superb place to take a short vacation. There is lots to see and do within the city and an selection number of tourist attractions which are readily accessible. Nearby places to visit include; Hardwick Hall, Wollaton Hall and Newstead Abbey.

As all all England bed & breakfast accommodation, accommodation in Nottingham is mostly top class at a reasonable cost and many people choose to stay in Nottingham for part of their vacation and then elsewhere for the remainder.

Many people fantasise about it, but much less people take the steps to making it a reality. Packing up a campervan with all your essentials, saying goodbye to friends and family, and hitting the open road with only a vague idea of where you are going and for how long. Once you’ve been on one campervan holidays you’ll likely go on many more as they are amazing fun, but if its your first time, what are the most vital things to sort.

Van. There have been some nightmare stories of people failing to taking out reliable cheap van leasing deals and the van dying within the first few miles. You don’t want this happening to you so you should either buy a van that has been checked out by a professional or hire a van from a reputable company. Mercedes van leasing is a pretty good option as these vans are pretty sturdy and rarely break down, but always give them a good drive before you set off on your trip just to make sure everything works properly.

Money. You can never really know exactly what you will need money for on your trip and how much you will need. You’ll have to take a certain amount of money for the essentials like food, drink and gas, but its well worth leaving some aside as a back up. It makes a lot of sense to keep some cash for emergencies and things that you can’t plan for, such as having to pay for a new windscreen after a bird decides to try and fly through it.It is advisable also to take a credit card or similar with you as you may find you need larger sums of money and you don’t want to be carrying this around in cash all the time.

Time. So you’ve got your Citroen van leasing sorted, you’ve packed it all up, now all you need is a relaxed state of mind. There is no point trying to keep to a strict time plan and itinerary because on camper van holidays you are at the will of many different factors, including traffic, weather and a whole of other things. When time stops being the most important factor, you can spend yours enjoying the more important things.

The current economic doom and gloom means that some holiday makers will be staying at home this year. Rather than enjoying a sunshine break abroad.  And whilst no destination is immune many, such as Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, will still be attracting a sizeable amount of arrivals.  Despite the weak pound and economic climate.

This is great news for the tourists visiting the island as there are some great deals to be had on Lanzarote holiday villas and apartments in Lanzarote.

This figure will still be way down on previous years however.  As island tourist authorities have already recorded a 20% drop in arrivals during the first quarter of this year.  As some consumers opt to either stay at home or journey outside of the euro zone.  But many more still find that a good value break in a destination such as Lanzarote can even work out cheaper than a holiday in the UK.

Self catering holidays on islands such as Lanzarote can in fact work out to be very affordable.  The cost of a weeks stay in many Lanzarote apartments for example starts at around €170 per week.  And this is the price per room, rather than per person.   Those looking for a really good accommodation deal should search for apartments in Puerto del Carmen.  As Lanzarote´s biggest resort offers the largest range of choice, boasting hundreds of complexes.

The bulk of these tend to be located in the New Town area.  Usually in close proximity to the beach (within ten minutes walking distance) and all of the other amenities of the resort.  Puerto del Carmen has also enjoyed a makeover in the last twelve months.  And now boasts a smart new beachfront promenade and an upmarket marina in the Old Town harbour area.  So further enhancing the resorts appeal.

For those who prefer more space and a private pool there are lots of good quality Lanzarote villas available for rent in all locations right across the island.Expect to pay from €400 upwards for a standard two bedroom villa with swimming pool.  With many owners offering deals on their villas in Playa Blanca for early bookings.  As competition for business intensifies in the islands southernmost resort due to an over supply of property there.

Playa Blanca is an ideal location for a break in the sun.  Not least as it enjoys the best microclimate on the island.  And is also home to some of Lanzarote´s finest beaches – such as the set of coves at Papagayo, which are just fifteen minutes walk from the town centre.  Along with Playa Dorada and Playa Flamingo in the heart of the resort itself.

Visitors to the Canaries will get a warm welcome and have a fantastic holiday regardless of their choice of destination.

An absolute must see place to visit in the New Forest is Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary and the Ornamental Drive. A beautiful drive to get here and a trip that is worth a whole day or to come back again and again. A very happy day can easily be spent here for the whole family.

In case you didn’t know the New Forest National park was once the hunting grounds of the former kings of England, and some of the ancient traditions are still practiced today by the commoners.

The car park at Bolderwood gets really busy, so on a really lovely sunny day, plan your trip early to avoid disappointment. Adjacent to the car park and the woodland there is an open green which is great for having your picnic and a family/friendly game of rounders. You can get a delicious forest ice cream from the resident ice cream van here.

Just inside the entrance to Bolderwood there is a marvellous woodland area with some picnic and barbeque facilities. You will also find a Forest Ranger manned information centre here which is great for getting advice and answering questions you might have about the forest. There are also some great examples of some of the foliage etc. that you will find during your visit to Bolderwood.

Once you have entered into the Woodland area at Bolderwood there is a choice of variable well marked walks you can choose from. The shortest is about half a mile long and this walk will take you past the Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary. There is a viewing platform here where you can look out across the forest to see how many deer you can spot. The forest feed some deer from here, so if you get the time just right, you can often see a many a deer feeding and grazing.

If you decide to take the Jubilee Walk, this is a about half a mile and will take you through the Bolderwood Arboretum. This is a fabulous display of a range of trees which began as far back as the 1800’s. Unfortunately, because of the high winds we had here in 1987 and further more in 1991, many of the great trees were destroyed. A project of ongoing planting has since been put in place to return this area to its original beauty.

The Radnor Trail is another walk which will take you through this ancient beautiful forest, during this walk you might spot the odd Deer grazing in the distance hiding amongst the many more variety of tree species. There are many suitably placed benches to take a rest for a while and to admire the beauty of the forest surrounding you.

The New Forest Cycling network which takes you through the many finest parts of the forest and links many of the major villages includes Bolderwood. Cycling through Bolderwood which includes the Ornamental drive is beautiful and can take about 3 and one half hours.

Bolderwood Ornamental drive must be visited either on the way in to Bolderwood or on the way out. The ornamental drive takes you though this marvellous picturesque route around Bolderwood and during the summer it is at its most beautiful. This is a busy fairly narrow windy road however and many hikers and cyclists as well as the wildlife use it too, so take care !

Who are the Miao?

Residing in the mountainous south and southwestern China, the Miao minority group have holidays in each month. They visit relatives and neighbors to sing, dance, and have big meals together. Holidays offer a good opportunity for young people to seek for their lovers. Girls are especially beautiful on such occasions, with their huge sets of silver jewelry and embroidered garments.

The Miao New Year

Because they follow the lunar calendar, the Miao New Year can come in September, October, or November. Before the New Year, people have a general house-cleaning, and prepare special food like glutinous rice paste, rice wine, sausage, and bean curd. Women are usually busy sewing new clothes for their family.

People stay up until midnight on New Year’s Eve, then they go outside to light firecrackers to invite dragons into their home. After daybreak, they will hold a ceremony to worship their ancestors. A cow is regarded as an auspicious animal, so its nose will be put some wine to show that people respect it. After breakfast, people go to see their neighbors and say to each other “Happy New Year!”.

On the first two days of the New Year, no one is allowed to go to mountains to chop wood, cut grass, or even do any cleaning around the home. Women don’t do housework like cooking, and men do.

Girls dress up with beautiful silver ornaments like silver earrings and embroidered garments to go to meet the boys. Some young males walk farther to other villages to attend various kinds of social activities.

The Miao fully enjoy themselves during 9 days of new year. A lot of people choose to get married during this time.

Huashan Festival

There are various Huashan, or “Flower Mountain,” festivals held in different Miao areas. Some comes in January, and others in May or August of the lunar calendar.

On that day, a pole adorned with colorful flags is placed at the heart of a playing field. A small red bag with money inside is placed at the top of the pole. The pole climbing starts when a man announces the beginning of the festival. The man who can climb to the top of the pole first to take the pouch, while playing his Lusheng wind instrument, will get the reward. It’s not easy to climb a pole and at the same time to play an instrument! The pole, made of peeled pine wood, is tall, smooth, and thin. The winner will be regarded as a hero, especially by the girls.

People can also enjoy other interesting games like archery and horse races, which are held at the same time. Women show great interest in exhibiting their perfect sewing skills and the men are busy displaying their superior physical strength.

This is also good occasion for single young people to seek for lovers. If they find someone they are interested in, they will give each other some presents, like a silver hairpin or waistband. Older people go to visit friends and exchange their ideas about farming. The festival lasts until late in the evening.

Sister Festival: Miao Valentine’s Day

The Miao Sister Festival is also called Miao Valentine’s Day, as it’s a holiday for single women to invite young men from other villages to meet. The festival falls on mid-March of the lunar calendar.

On March 13th, Miao girls go to the mountains to pick special leaves and flowers used as food dyes. Then they are ready to cook yummy, pleasant, and colorful glutinous rice. The rice has five different colors. Blue typifies wealth, yellow stands for a good harvest, white indicates their true and pure love, green means their pretty hometown, and red hopes their village will go for prosperity.

The next day they go fishing to catch some fish and freshwater shrimp. In the afternoon, they go to buy some duck and duck eggs to prepare a great meal. The duck is needed because a swimming duck symbolizes the girls’ ability to meet men from the other side of the river.

When the men come in the evening, they will eat together while chat to exchange their ideas. The girls will put on their beautiful silver ornaments from head to toe, which mostly grab men's attention.

The holiday lasts four days until March 17th. Many different kinds of activities and sports are held at this time, such as bullfight and horse races.

Before the men go back to their home, the girls will present them bamboo baskets with duck, eggs, fish, and glutinous rice. Some specific things are placed in the basket to show their feelings of the men. Cotton means they will always have their partner in their mind. A bunch of pine leaves implies they like to have some needles and thread.
