Nerja may be one of the smaller and lesser known towns on the Costa del Sol in Spain, but it definitely has much to offer. Indeed, there are plenty of exciting activities you can try out if you spend your holidays in Nerja while staying at a great Nerja apartment. Here are some to get you started.
Explore Nerja Caves
The caves of Nerja are one of the town’s main attractions, which is why you should explore them during your holidays in Nerja. This complex of caves was discovered in 1959, although studies show that it has been in existence for millions of years. Here, you will see the world’s largest calcite column, remarkable stalactite and stalagmite formations, several paleothic wall paintings and skeletal remains displayed in glass cases throughout its various halls, though most of the artifacts unearthed in the cave are displayed in the museum outside. You can even catch a concert or a ballet at one of its halls.
Watersports at Burriana Beach
It goes without saying that one of the things to do in Nerja is to relax or have a splash at its idyllic beaches. In fact, many tourists rent apartments in Nerja just for this purpose. The most popular beach is Burriana Beach, which is also the largest in town, as well as the most commercialized. This means that you can easily find sun beds, palm umbrellas, shower facilities and restaurants on this beach or take advantage of its watersports centre and go surfing, jetskiing or scuba diving.
Enjoy a Stroll through the Balcony of Europe
The Balcon de Europa or Balcony of Europe is a wide palm tree-lined promenade built on the site of a 9th century fortress. If you want to enjoy the most stunning views of the city or the ocean, or catch glimpses of the surrounding mountain ranges and even the coast of Africa on a clear day, there is no better place to go to than here. You can also stop by the El Salvador church, dine at one of the fine restaurants on the Balcon or hire a horse-drawn carriage from here to see the rest of the town.
Visit the Nerja Donkey Sanctuary
Donkeys are known for being stubborn but they can also be loving, as you will see when you visit the Nerja Donkey Sanctuary, one of the things to do in Nerja. You will also see some mules and horses here, and even some dogs and goats. For a truly unique and rewarding experience, lend a hand at feeding, grooming and even walking the animals. You can even adopt one of the donkeys for a year by making a contribution to help out.
Nerja at Night
Even at night, you can still have a lot of fun in Nerja. No matter where your Nerja apartment is, you’re sure to find a bar, pub or restaurant nearby where you can eat, drink, dance, socialize or even watch a flamenco show during your holidays in Nerja, although for the best of the nightlife in Nerja, you will have to make your way to Plaza Tutti Frutti and Antonio Millon where the parties go on until around four in the morning.
Learn Spanish in Nerja
Like many towns and cities in Spain, Nerja has several language centres where you can learn Spanish. This is an opportunity you should seize during your holidays in Nerja since this will help you understand and get along with the locals better. Some language centres even offer excursions at the end of the course, which gives you a chance to practice your Spanish as you tour the town and the best attractions around.
There are certainly many activities you can do during your holidays in Nerja which will help you truly enjoy your vacation. To have more chances of trying them out or make your own discoveries to add to the list, stay at a Nerja apartment during your stay. There are many great ones available, all of which can help you make the most of your trip.

Camps can be said traditional for kids and adults. However there are different camps for different ages, even there are wide variety of learning camps.
With the holidays approaching, everyone’s looking forward to them with anticipation. Every parent wants their kid to learn something as well as have some fun during these few weeks. Then the best option for you will be sending your kids to spend some times at a boys camp. If they’re the outdoor type, they’re likely to learn plenty of new things, both about nature and other kids.
Kids nowadays are disconnected with nature with the introduction of computers and electronic devices. Technology has made many kids pick a day at home over a day outside with their friends. This is the main reason for parents to look for outdoor activities such as a boys camp for their children. Kids who go to a boys camp would find it that much easier to work in teams later on. A few of the things that kids at a boys camp get to try out are camping, hiking, kayaking, fishing and swimming.
Enrolling with such a boys camp is very easy because of the availability of camps throughout the country. Such a camp should be available in your state which you can visit without hassle.
Most of these summer camps are placed at breathtaking areas of the country with mountain ranges and national forests as the base. This allows kids to enjoy the great outdoors with all the adventure of being an explorer. Once they’ve tried it, kids who’ve been to a good boys camp usually return for as long as they can.
A common concern for parents who send their kids to summer camps would be their safety and welfare. What most parents don’t know is that a boys camp will consist of trained professionals that have the experience of camping for decades. These adults are responsible enough to ensure that the kid gets the most out of the experience without endangering him. Then again a little scratch on the knee will only teach the kid a bit more about life.
So the next time your kids think it’s boring to hang out at home or if he’s spending way too much time in front of the computer, you know what to do. A boys camp is a great way to spend the holidays. Give him the head start he deserves. Let him experience everything a boys camp has to offer.
Bring to mind Nottingham and mostly all tourists remember the legend of Sir Robin Hood, his merry men and the Sherrif of Nottingham and even though the legend attracts increasing numbers of tourists year after year there is much more to Nottinghamshire and the city of Nottingham than meets the eye. Infact Nottingham has a respectable collection of fascinating local attractions making it an excellent place for a family vacation and the following article introduces the city and a small number of visitor attractions in, and close to, Nottingham, as well as some places offering Nottingham B&B accommodation.
Nottingham is located in Nottinghamshire, in the East Midlands, England, UK. As well as the legend of Sir Robin Hood, his merry men and Sherwood Forest, Nottingham is also known for the lace business especially at the time of the Industrial Revolution when it gained a worldwide reputation for excellence.
Nottingham Lace Market
Once the heart of the worldwide lace industry, during the time of the British Empire, the Lace Market is, today, a protected heritage area. The area is home to numerous fantastic examples of industrial architecture of the Nineteenth Century. The market wasn’t like a normal market area, rather than having stalls and salesmen, the lace market was more a selection of salesrooms and warehouses displaying and selling lace. After the downturn in the lace industry the market became derelict however, today, most of the old warehouses have been renovated for alternative use such as photographic studios and the likes. The Nottingham Lace Market is a popular tourist attraction.
Shire Hall & Galleries of Justice
Nearby the Lace Market you will discover the Galleries of Justice situated in Shire Hall. The Hall is a Georgian-built building which features Neoclassical columns, pilasters and dome. The facade has, if you examine it closely, a misspelled word Goal rather than Gaol. The Hall has two superbly preserved Victorian courtrooms plus old cells, bath house, a women’s prison, an Edwardian police station and a prisoner’s exercise yard.
The City of Nottingham is a superb place to take a short vacation. There is lots to see and do within the city and an selection number of tourist attractions which are readily accessible. Nearby places to visit include; Hardwick Hall, Wollaton Hall and Newstead Abbey.
As all all England bed & breakfast accommodation, accommodation in Nottingham is mostly top class at a reasonable cost and many people choose to stay in Nottingham for part of their vacation and then elsewhere for the remainder.
Harbour Cruising has become a popular pastime today, with itineraries around the world and ports of call too numerous to count. However, even with the increasing number of seasoned cruisers throughout the United States today, the Caribbean is still one of the most frequently visited locations for this mode of travel. Caribbean cruises are in demand, and many cruise lines have answered the call by providing itineraries to the eastern, western and southern regions of these islands. Some even offer a variety of Caribbean Bahamas cruises for those who want a quick jaunt to a tropical location. With so many possibilities, it can be hard to know which Caribbean itinerary is the right one for your vacation. However, the popularity of the western Caribbean cruise has led many to this part of the tropics for a number of reasons.
Not just the Caribbean
One of the reasons that a western Caribbean cruise is so popular is that destinations are not limited to the Caribbean region. Many western Caribbean cruise itineraries will include a day at Key West, or a stop or two along the Mexican coastline. Travelers enjoy the opportunity to see more than one country on a single voyage. This variety of destinations also means that no two western Caribbean cruise itineraries are ever the same. Travelers can choose a number of cruises to this area on a number of different cruise lines and see new sights with every voyage.
Easy Embarkation
Another reason that many cruisers choose a western Caribbean cruise is that they can choose from a number of embarkation ports throughout the United States coast. While most ships will still set sail from somewhere in Florida, travelers can choose from ports in Miami all the way around the coast to Tampa. Some cruise lines will also begin a western Caribbean cruise from other southern states like Texas, Louisiana and Alabama. This gives travelers the opportunity to enjoy another area of the United States before setting off for more exotic locations.
Versatility
The most common time period for a western Caribbean cruise is seven nights, but there are other itinerary lengths available as well. The typical seven-night western Caribbean cruise is an excellent choice for cruisers who are guaranteed at least two days of relaxation while the ship is at sea. Some ports will offer extended stays so visitors can get their fill of one destination before moving on to the next. The other advantage to the western Caribbean cruise is that just about every cruise line offers this itinerary. This means travelers have an even broader choice in the type of cruise they can take.
A western Caribbean cruise is one of the most popular with travelers for a number of reasons. If this sounds like the kind of tropical vacation you are looking for, contact your travel agent or cruise line today.

All this means that it has never been easier enjoy Canada holidays every year.
Canada can also boast some of the most incredible natural leisure resources in the world.Fishing is a great Canadian pastime and many rare species including brown, brook and sea trout can be found in abundance within their river systems. There are lakes that provide great water sports fun in the summer and in the winter you can enjoy some ice-fishing.The majority of water ways have endless cycling tracks running along their banks that can used by snowmobiles in the winter months. Thats something you would normally assocated with Alaska holidays
So, as you see Canada has it all and if you holiday their regularly, you might want to think about making an investment in this beautiful land.
There are a couple of computer games that I have played recently that have led me to seriously think about going on one of those brilliant luxury cruises I have heard so much about.
Cruise ship Tyccon is the first and most obvious on the list
You can blame the blog on this game as it is this one that gave me the idea to think about going on a luxury cruise. Basically all you have to do is run a cruise ship for yourself. This game is great as you can explore the ship from any angle you wan’t. This is great as the in game ships are all based on real ships which make is perfect for me as I can see exactly what there is to do on a ship without even having to do much research. You also get to see how hard it is to keep the ship running which although unnecessary for people on the actual holiday I thought it was very interesting to see myself.
Splinter cell Double Agent
This one is a bit random as the whole point of the mission is to plant a bomb in the ship but not to worry it is for the purpose of killing terrorists. When I was playing this game it is safe to say the graphics are so good I didn’t even need to go and look at a website to see what a luxury ship looked like which is one of the reason this game is on the list. You dont just get to see the interior of one room in this level, as you progress through the mission you get to go through the casino, swimming pool and many bars which is great as this was again based on a real ship.
The weird one- Mario Kart
Call me crazy but there is a level in which you have to drive around on a luxury ship and although I put it here simply because of this it only shows one thing and that is how big a ship is, big enough to drive a kart on? Well in all honesty you could if there wasn’t anyone onboard which is the case in this game.
So there you have it and it gets even better as I am actually going to book a holiday with Regent Cruises today so all I can say is thank you gaming!
I have come to the conclusion that going on one of those great premium luxury cruises is actually worth all the money as well as being a lot better than taking a plane there. But why is this?
No hassle arriving fifty hours before so your bags can be checked, that is done quickly which is great you wont need to get up that early to get there as its all a lot quicker. There is absolute no need to wait around waiting to get to your destination because as soon as you put one foot onto the ship you are pretty much at your hotel for the duration of your holiday.
No more will you have to wait for the seatbelt signs to flicker off before food and drink is served as this is all avalible as soon as you get aboard. Free drinks are only really available on airlines that are expensive to travel on and that is only if you are flying long haul.
The best thing about it is you actually get to have legroom which is great compared to a plane! On a ship there is no need to worry about little legroom as many of the ships even have their own jogging tracks.
If your in danger there are lifeboats to board and it saves jumping out of a plane and the likelihood of anyone being injured at all is extremely low. As well as this you don’t have to worry about terrorists at all! All you really need to worry about are pirates and that is only if you are near the pirate zones.
Of course there is the possibility of storms but hey when that happens just head downstairs and relax with a game of pool or a nice drink, or even both!
I have to admit I love flying and I would never say cruise every year instead of flying to your favourite destination but going on a luxury cruise is nice every so often and with Regent Cruises (the one I went with) you are sure to have a better time than on an aeroplane.
After recently going on one of those fancy luxury cruise holidays myself I have come to the conclusion that going on one is simply one of the best things you could possibly do with your money. Why? Simply because a luxury cruise ship has everything on it you’d expect from any other holiday destination but is ten times better.
Nowhere else in the entire world are you going to find giant luxury suites with butler services, spas and training areas as well as a giant swimming pool, restaurent and bars and karoke. I could not believe how many different activites are available one one of these ships, it really is limitless to the things you can do when en-route to the next destination. I personally attended one of the fascinating educational talks about the next destination we were heading too and I can safley say that it is great to know a bit of the culture and local history before arriving as at least you do not feel like a total idiot when you arrive as you know a little about the people living there.
As well as all of these brilliant things you can go to dinner time shows as well as all you can eat buffets which for me, being used to things like this on my trips to America is fantastic.
There are no limits on where you can go on a luxury cruise as over the past 10-20 years destinations have grown immensely ranging from Europe to the Antarctic which is absolutely brilliant for people who either just want to look at these continents or actually go ashore and explore the small towns or the big cities that these cruise ships go to.
So save up those wages and go on a luxury cruise holiday like me and if you want advice on which one is the best to go on as there are literally hundreds all I can say is that Regent Cruises was simply fantastic an I would recommend to anyone thinking of going on a holiday like this.
Blackpool is an incredibly popular seaside resort sited on the English North West coast, which remains amazingly popular with visitors arriving from the close by cities which include Liverpool, Manchester, Warrington and more. The resort is also deeply popular with Scottish folk who often turn up in large numbers in a similar way to the groups of factory workers of old on their works vacation. Occasionally it appears as though the seaside resort is awash with accommodation and entertainments and even though there is a great deal of Blackpool bed and breakfasts it is better to book early to avoid upset. Accommodation varies from the cheap and chearful to 5 star. Many are situated on the sea front but, if you would rather stay somewhere less rawcous you will find a few further away.
In the eighteenth century Blackpool began to see its first tourists who had traveled to enjoy the new practice of sea bathing. When the railway arrived, from 1846, the resort witnessed increasing numbers of tourists to “take the cure” as it was called. Nowadays visitors can get to Blackpool by air, rail or road arriving there much faster than the early Victorian visitors who would travel for up to 48 hrs from as close by as Manchester.
The Blackpool Pleasure Beach
The most popular attraction in Blackpool, in Lancashire in the north west of England, which gets approximately 7 million visitors a year, is Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Blackpool’s Pleasure Beach is a funfair of enormous proportions with mind blowing big rides, just a few are Grand National, Valhalla, the Pepsi Max Big One, Ice Blast, Zipper Dipper and Wild Mouse, as well as even more food booths, sideshows, thrill rides, entertainments, children’s rides, games and sidestalls. The latest addition is Infusion, the first ever to be a suspended looping type of coaster all of it over water.
Please note: If you are visiting Blackpool as a group of folk you can make savings by buying a wristband for unlimited rides especially if you will going on every ride because the individual cost of each ride soon amounts to serious cash.
Getting To Blackpool And Bed & Breakfast
As mentioned earlier in this article, Blackpool is very easy to get to these days as you can get to the town by air, train or car. If traveling by you are railway you will, most probably, be using the main railway station in Blackpool, which is called Blackpool North found on Talbot Road. Not too fat away, just a little further down the road is Blackpool National Express Coach Station, Blackpool’s main bus station. The other rail station, Blackpool South, is at Waterloo Road, South Promenade, which is better for those wanting the Pleasure Beach. Blackpool International Airport is found approximately 2 miles south of the centre of town and was called, Blackpool Squires Gate Airport, One of the oldest airports in Great Britain.
Blackpool bed and breakfast accommodation is generally priced fairly low. Rooms are much cheaper out of season but not very cheap at weekends. Hotels in Blackpool are most expensive while the Illuminations are on, which is really the seaside town’s peak season.
Please remember: Some guest houses can be very busy and rather noisy especially those between North and Central Pier. If you rather stay somewhere not so busy try booking accommodation past the North Pier.
