In the past, Google Adsense was the darling of the Internet Marketing World. Noobs jumped on board the Adsense bandwagon believing they could make money online fast and be holding up unheard of checks like Shoemoney. Then, after a few weeks getting just a few cents for their clicks, they then become discouraged and screamed to anyone who would read their rants that Adsense doesn’t work any longer.
The facts are, there are many of us who are bringing down excellent money with the Adsense program. Making money with Adsense requires a little more than just throwing up a blog, scraping content and adding your Adsense code. In a Nutshell, Adsense is still one of the quick ways to make cash online. Here’s some advanced tips that will help increase your payday from Google.
First off, take a long hard look at the site where you have Adsense. Is your site targeted to one niche? I find it really humurous sometimes when so called Internet Marketer say you can’t make any money with Adsense. I usually check out their site and see that it isn’t optimized for any keyword that advertisers would be bidding on. Or, what advertisers that are bidding are bidding a nickel per hit. The lack of a focused website is one of the biggest reasons Webmasters don’t make money with Google Adsense.
For Adsense to show your visitors the highest paying ads, your site has to be very targeted to a keyword. For example, if you have articles on a website discussing everything from how green the grass is today to how sloppy your kids teacher dressed, Adsense will not give you the highest paying ads. Plus, the ones you do get probably will not be targeted to your audience because the Adsense bot is having difficulty trying to determine what your web site is about.
Okay listen closely. For example, let’s say you started a blog about chicken wings. On this site, you only have articles dealing with chicken wings. You have articles about Hot Wings, Barbecue Chicken Wings, Wing Sauce Recipes, How to cook Chicken Wings, etc. Now if you’ve done your on-page SEO properly, the Adsense bot will know that you site is all about Chicken Wings. This site will get the highest paying ads concerning chicken wings. Plus, when you have visitors to your site, they’re going to click on those Adsense ads if they want more information about chicken wings.
Another thing that makes me laugh is when a noob says he’s getting a steady stream of traffic from Stumble Upon or Digg, but he isn’t getting any clicks? It’s no secret to most of us that Social Traffic doesnt convert. Traffic from Social Sites are just browsing the Internet while they should be working. There’s an old saying in Internet Marketing that goes like this. Readers don’t click ads and Clickers don’t read!
Google traffic is what drives Adsense clicks. If your website is niche focused and you have your site ranking well for its keywords, then when search engine traffic from Google arrives, they’ll be clicking ads. They’re searching for information and they found it on your site. Your site has a bunch of Adsense ads about what they’re looking for. They want information and they want it now. They will click those ads!
Yet another strategy is to have some vague or long drawn out articles on your site. If someone is looking for a recipe on Chicken Wings with Cheese Fritters and you have an article by the same name, they’ll be reading that article. But if that article is really long and boring and says very little about Chicken Wings with Cheese Fritters, they’ll get bored and start looking around your site. That’s when they’ll see an Adsense block with an ad for a sure fire, can’t miss Chicken Wing with Cheese Fritter recipe and click on it. Don’t solve their problem with your article. Let the Adwords advertiser do that!
Okay, that’s enough for now. I’ll let you think about what I just said. Meanwhile, go look at your site and see where you can improve it. Get it focused on one niche. Don’t try to cover many niches with your website because you’ll end up with those five cent clicks!

Google Trends is a service from Google I use all the time to spot hot trends. Trends is one of my favorite services from Google. It helps me see what is being searched for currently. Google Trends tracks all searches that are performed on Google and list the most popular.You can go back over time to see what people were searching for on a particular day as well. This is powerful for the Internet Marketer because it allows users to see what people are searching for, whether it’s a product, service or information.
Google’s Keyword Research tool is something that no Internet Marketer should be without if you’re trying to earn quick cash on the Internet. Any Niche Marketer worth his computer knows how important this tool is. This tool shows the approximate number of times a keyword or keyword phrase has been searched for in Google’s search engine in the previous month. It also shows you how many advertisers are bidding on those phrases and how much they’re willing to pay for each click. After finding some hot trends with Google Trends, I use this tool to see how many searches there have been for the terms. This tool will also tell you how much per click advertisers are willing to spend. This is very important for those of you wanting to make money with Adsense.
Serious Webmasters will want to use Google’s Webmasters Tool program. This is an important tool for those of you with websites. This tool does several things. The two most important ones in my opinion are that it shows you the top keywords your website ranks for plus it will show you how many backlinks your site has and how many backlinks each page has. This will help you know which keywords or keyword phrases your site needs optimized for.
Google Analytics is another tool you’ll need a Google account for. This tool allows you to compile serious data concerning the visitors to your website. There are a lot of expensive programs out there that can’t do what Analytics can do for you. I could write a book about all the features and benefits that Google Analytics offers Webmasters. Just some of the features of this tool include; telling you where your traffic is coming from, which keywords they’re using to get to your site, how long they stay on your site, which pages they visit, whether or not they are returning visitors and which keywords covert better than other ones. This is invaluable information when you’re trying to figure out where your traffic is coming from and how well your offers are converting.
This destroys the myth that you need high dollar software to make money on the Internet. With these free tools from Google, there is no need in spending a lot of money on other programs. You can take the money you save and outsource some of those boring chores of Internet Marketing that you hate to do, like writing articles!

Wouldn’t it be ideal to spend just several days building websites to run adsense ads and then able sit back while our adsense campaign is working for us 24/7, in all countries and earning enough from adsense, to not have to work anymore?

Ok, so how do we do this? First we need to consider how we can make web pages.

So our adsense page has to have lots of information about one specific subject, but not so much that they stay there.
To do this we can consider using software to make a directory of information pages, on these pages we have links to other sites that are providing the detailed information that our visitors are looking for. On our directory page we have a description of the sites that are listed there. And many of these sites have provided a “Reciprocal link” to our sites, home page! So we will now have a page with lots of great content (all the site descriptions) and this is where people come looking for specific information, so we place our adsense ads here!
They are targeted pages, and visitors arrive looking for something to click on! So it makes adsense to do this.
Other types of websites where you can make money from adsense is building niche portal websites with specific interest and content. If you have a specific hobby, then it will be easy for you to build niche websites and add information to them. Designing your adsense display:
Once you have your google adsense account set up and running, you can choose the type of ads you want and taylor it to suit your website. Some things to consider when doing this are, do you want it to appear as a part of the page? Or do you want it to jump out as something different? It’s difficult to say which is best, because that depends on a range of variables, such as your target market, your overall objectives and promotional plan.
To track the performance of your adsense ads, you can use the “channels” option while creating your ad boxes, this will help you to determine which ads in which pages are doing the best and that, in turn, will enable you to decide on the best possible style and position for displaying your ads.
Placing an Ad display on your page:
First, this all depends on your skill and knowledge of html, if you’re new to web page building and html, you may find this a challenging task.
If you are experienced you can skip to the notes in this section, these notes may save you a lot of time and worry?
Many html composers will allow us to edit the page in the “view” that we would see in if it was a live page. So all we have to do is place XXX in the page were we want the ad to appear, and then switch to “html view” (or whatever your composer calls the page that you edit html code on). In the html view we find the XXX, then simply delete the XXX and paste the adsense ad code in its place. EASY!
NOTES:
Some composers won’t run the script in any view after you paste it, ARGH! This may make you think it didn’t work. In addition when you load it to your server and run it live, you may still not see your ad display! It can take some time for everything to propagate on the page. So, as long as the code is there, do not waste your time trying to think why it is not showing, just come back every now and then to check it.
Also you will notice at first, the ads may not be targeted or may only display partially, just be patient, some people had to wait up to 3 days for some ad displays to appear!
