If you are new to World of Warcraft and do not know which class to play, we recommend you try out the Druid.  This class is able to fit the needs of any role in groups and raids, and are actually preferred in some cases.  Unlike paladins and warriors, Druids do not need a shield when tanking.  They are also completely immune to polymorph effects while in a shape form, and can shift out of a polymorph with the click of a button.
When utilizing the balance tree talent specialization, a druid gains access to a form known as moonkin.  While transformed as a moonkin, the Druid gains a significant 370% armour bonus, as well as a raid-wide buff that increases critical chance by 5%.  In addition, when someone does perform a critical strike on a target, they will be refunded 2% of their total mana.  This makes Druids a welcomed addition to any party or raid, as they passively buff everyone around them.  If a Druid becomes especially proficient in the moonkin form, they receive a 3% spell haste and 5% damage boost out of your total spirit.
At level 30, Druids get a unique travel form that grants the ability to travel 40% faster while outdoors or in certain areas.
When a druid is tanking, they utilize their dire bear form, which is an advanced version of the first form they receive: bear form.  They receive 370% armour bonuses from whatever armour they are currently wearing, and they also gain a 25% boost in stamina.
When in water, Druids also gain the ability to shift into their water form, which gives them an additional 50% movement speed and the ability to breath underwater.
Druids also have flight forms.  One for the slower 60% speed flying mount and one for the 280% flying mount.
When going down the restoration tree specialization, the Druid will gain access to the Tree of Life form.  This form transforms the Druid into a walking tree and increases the healing capabilities to every ally within 45 yards of the Druid by 6%.  During this time, the Druid may only cast restoration or neutral spells.  All healing over time spells cost 20% less mana as well.
As healers, Druids overpower the damage coming onto their allies with effective healing over time spells.  Often, they can stack these spells on top of each other and keep a steady flow of health points coming to their allies.  In some cases, they can disperse a healing over time spell for instant healing.
Mages often dislike fighting against Druids while in player versus player content because of their immunity to polymorph.  This makes Druids a great class against mage heavy groups.
Druids can be a very difficult class to level up.  Having a guide that directs you step by step through the process of getting your very own druid to level 80 is going to be the most useful tool you could ask for.  It will minimize the amount of time it takes you to get to level 80, and maximize the efficiency in levelling your character up.  Just follow the guide and you will have your own druid at level 80 in no time!
