Lets examine each island a bit more closely. The island of Oahu, for example, gives you some of the most famous beaches in the world. When you travel to the north side of the island you can watch the surfers strut there stuff at world famous surf spots like Wiamea Bay and Sunset Beach.  Every year the waves on this side of the island showcase the best surfing talent in the world not to mention some of the biggest waves. Dine on the sumptuous cuisine that only Hawaii provides at the many sea side restaurants. Taste poi for the first time or enjoy a delicious coconut pudding. Luaus on the beach with the native dancers can be found throughout the island. You can also visit the memorials at Pearl Harbor; it is a haunting reminder of those terrible hours in 1941 and can bring history to life like no other experience.

Kauai is called the Garden Island for its exquisite natural beauty. You can spend your days hiking the picture perfect canyons or swimming in a secluded Hawaii waterfall. Helicopter tours take you on a breathtaking ride skimming the sand and surf. It is a wonderful experience that captures the intense charm of this small but incredibly beautiful island. Romantic couples will want to find a quiet little cove to use for your own private beach. These exceptional experiences are what Kauai is known for. Many people decide to have their wedding ceremonies within the lush foliage. Kauai is also famous for the movies that have been made there. Starting as early as the 1930’s, Kauai has been used for major moving pictures, with more recent entries such as Indiana Jones and all of the Jurassic Park movies. You may find yourself walking in the footsteps of your favorite movie stars or even eating next to one in the many sea side restaurants you will want to visit.

The Friendly Island is the moniker that explains Molokai today. This island is less developed than the others, thus it remains a wonderful showcase of what Hawaiian life is. They offer mule rides to take you to the north side of the island.  The leper colony was once at this site that is now a historical park.  The all day ride wanders through the island and down 1,700 feet to the former settlement. Throughout the ride you will be traversing on switchbacks and enjoying the pristine wilderness of Hawaii. Molokai is striving to restore the ancient ways with the Hawaiian fishponds. They were once used as a clever use of aquaculture.

Once you arrive in the Hawaiian Islands there are several sources of travel between the islands. There are airports that have hopper flights or you can use a water approach. You can find ferries that travel between the islands as a reasonable cost or you can board one hundred foot yachts that will deliver you to different islands in luxury.  The Molokai Princess is one such ship that runs from Maui to Molokai.
