Aspen Colorado ski resorts are amongst the oldest and most popular in the region, the most well known one had been on Ajax Mountain. It was established back in 1947 with what at the time was the longest ski lift in the world. Another nearby ski resort is the Aspen Highlands.
Of all the Aspen resorts, Ajax Mountain is better suited for intermediates to experts. Due to its steeper slopes, it is not a place recommended to beginners. It is undoubtedly the ideal place for people who really want to challenge and/or people who are experienced of skiing.
Beginners might find the slopes of a nearby resort to be more to their taste. The Aspen Highlands is fantastic for those who prefer less of a physical challenge and a more relaxing atmosphere. If you’re a lover of snowboarding or simply want to try it out, Buttermilk Mountain is a great area to start out at. Aspen Highlands consist of 420 acres, so there’s plenty of room for everyone without the worry of over-crowded slopes.
If it’s a thrill you seek, you might want to explore Snowmass, a huge area about 12 miles outside of Aspen. It’s over 4,500 feet high and has 94 funs total. The time it takes to travel the 12 miles from Aspen to Snowmass is roughly the amount of time it can take to skin down some of the longer runs of Snowmass.
Aspen ski resorts offer such a variety of slopes that you’re sure to find some that suit you. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner, intermediate, or seasoned skier—there are plenty of ski resorts to choose from in and around the Aspen area. To make your stay easier, try booking your accommodation and vehicle rental in advance.
You have three options if you reside in Colorado and want to acquire a passport. First, you should calculate the number of days until your departure date. This data will help you decide the type of processing you should choose.
One option is to apply at a Colorado passport acceptance facility if your travel date is two weeks or more away. Choosing regular processing takes three weeks or more and a request for expedited service takes two weeks or more. You will have to pay an additional fee to have your passport application processed but it is necessary if you need it in a hurry. There are many places that serve as passport acceptance facilities including post offices, clerks of court, public libraries and other state, county, township, and municipal government offices. With approximately 120 of the more than 9,000 passport offices located in Colorado, you should be able to find one not too far from where you live. If one cannot be found in your county, it is highly probable that there is one located in a neighboring county.
After finding a passport office near you, take the completed but unsigned Application for Passport, Form DS-11 along with proof of citizenship, proof of identity, two passport photos and your payment so that a passport agent can witness the signing of the application and get it mailed for you. One of the recommendations that the US Department of State Passport Services offers is that you use an overnight delivery method when requesting expedited processing. You should also write the word “expedite” on the outside of the envelope.
Seattle Passport Agency Serving Colorado
If your flight is scheduled to leave within two weeks or less, you can make an appointment at the Seattle passport agency. You make the appointment through an automated phone service. During peak travel seasons it can be difficult to get through so just keep trying. Once your appointment has been scheduled, you need to be at the Seattle agency a few minutes early with the completed application Form DS-11 and all the required documents, photos and payment. If everything is in order, you should walk out with your new passport in hand.
Rush Passport Expediting
When it is not possible for you to dislocate from Colorado to the regional agency but you absolutely must get a passport quickly, you can contract a rush passport expediter. You will still need to sign your application when requested to do so by an agent at a nearby passport office. Rather than mail it directly from the post office, you will send the sealed envelope to the rush expediting company that you have chosen to use. When you contract an expediting service, you authorize them to represent you at the regional passport agency. By choosing this method you can get your passport in as little as twenty-four hours.
From the above information, you have learned that Colorado residents have three ways they can apply for a passport: an acceptance facility, a regional agency or a travel document expediting service. By applying at a local passport office you can expect to get your new passport in two or three weeks. In can take longer depending on the demand at the time you apply. You can get your passport the same day at the regional agency. However, it requires you to travel to Seattle. Finally, an expediter can get your application processed in less than two weeks or, even, the same day if necessary.
