The German car brands still keep to grow, though the automotive world in general is in recess. The German manufacturer is doing well in other countries than Germany too. In the first quarter of 2009, BMW Group continued to register growth in the Chinese Mainland market with a total of 16,580 BMW and MINI cars delivered  to the customers, representing 13.8% growth over the same period of last year (prev.yr.: 14,574 units).  Automotive expectations in the east are good, and Chinese people still are buying cars. But just ten percent of the Chinese public is driving or owning a car. What would you think this will do to the environment if all Chinese own one or two cars. Luckily the Chinese government is trying to get people to buy only clean cars and reward it with half the taxes as would be payed normally.

Sales of the BMW brand automobiles in the Chinese Mainland increased by 14.four percent to 15,850 units, which includes 8,402 units BMW 3 Series and 5 Series cars are build in China. Sales of MINI cars rose by 1% in the Chinese Mainland to 730 units in the first quarter of 2009 (prev.yr.: 723 units).

In the whole Region China markets combining Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau, the BMW Group delivered a total of 18,244 BMW and MINI brand automobiles in the first quarter, a year-on-year increase of 5.4% (prev.yr.:

17,317).

“Considering the current global difficult times, the Chinese auto market continues to be very resilient and recently showed signs of recovering the growth path. We achieved an enormous growth again for BMW and MINI vehicles sales for the first quarter, and good growth of 20.4% in March. Our new generation 7 Series will be one of the main reasons to our sales success throughout the year in China” said Dr. Christoph Stark, President and CEO of BMW Group Region China.

Future Cars

My car seems to have lived its life its getting abit wrinkley, I have had it since I passed my driving test so around 5 years. But recently the body work has started getting a lot messy.

So I have been saving all of my pennies and am now looking through brochures of new cars. I just cannot make my mind up on the car that I will purchase, I log on every day to have a quick browse.

Recently though while searching through YouTube I came across this amazing video showing how cars would look in a few more years. If you take a glimpse at the above video, you will just see the quality of these unbelievable vehicles.

Looking at the silver Peugeots or the silver BMW is just amazing and I honestly do believe that in the next 10 years we will be seeing cars that are a lot more rounded. Technology is advancing and if we turn out attention back to the early 90's where people did not really know how to manipulate metals most of the cars had a square format, but if we then fast forward to the present date you will see cars are already starting to take shape such as the Audi TT car models.

So after viewing this great little clip I think I shall wait until the future cars get released before making any harsh decisions. Allow upto five more years before we see these on the market.

BMW Tuning

Getting your car to be featured in car magazine can have many benefits.

First, it will give a good documentation of your modified car for your effort and secondly, it
will give a good promotion for your car if you want to sell it.

However, since there are millions of cars out there on the road, how can one attract the attention of Car Magazine to feature your tuned car?

Here are some tips and guides on How to Feature your car in magazines by a BMW car owner whose BMW M3 was featured in 3 Car Magazines.

1. BE the FIRST (NEWS SELLS)

Car magazines works like printed media, they need news to sell more of their magazines, hence attract their attention, you need to make news for them. If your car has the first new modifications from a car tuner (a new prototype), that would be ideal as it will create curiosity and attention of readers.

2. BE DIFFERENT: CREATE a whole unique car:

Your best bet is to start off with your mind to create something really special to your own liking, of course according to your taste. You don’t want to create a unique car only to dislike it after the modifications. People want to see something unusual. “Extra Ordinary” always catches attention. But always remember to do it tastefully otherwise it will only attract negative feedback. Be creative, don’t limit yourself to parts from one car tuner, you may mix and match with parts and accessories or even from other makes of car tuners.

3. CUSTOMISED MODIFICATIONS: ATTENTION TO DETAIL:

Custom modifications attracts attention, it shows creativity and uniqueness too, that nobody else’s has. Car Magazines are enthuasistic to show customized parts to the world and people will want to buy their magazines to read and to check out the new parts.

4. BRIGHT COLOURS:

Car magazines love BRIGHT colored car, so if your modified car is of that, you have a point ahead of other car owners. You may have noticed this in all other car cover magazines too. So if you plan to repaint your car, catch attention and make it to the cover, choose bright! (important note: choose a bright color that you can live with!)

5. CONTACT YOUR LOCAL MAGAZINES:

Well you need to let the magazines know that you have a unique car to feature. Find the best magazine that suit your car theme or make and contact them. If your car is modified by a tuner, you may want to ask your tuner to call the Magazines as they will have direct contacts to the publishers.

If you have a tuned unique car, many car magazines are more than willing to feature it. Just think of it this way, all Car magazines need unique cars to feature in their magazines every month! (At least five cars tp feature in each issue). How are they going to find these cars? If you have one special car and feel like getting it featured, get some good photos now and email them. You just have to let Car publishers know of the existence of your special Car. Good Luck!

The new seven series is a luxury car to set the ever increasing bar.

Power

Under the hood is bigger and better than any previous effort in the seven series – the 750iL boasts a mighty 400 horsepower (which is more than 40 more horses than before) and can rocket from zero to sixty in less than five seconds.  Although the miles per gallon of the new  4.4 liter V8 engine are a bit modest in terms of conservation (15 city and 23 highway), they are still competitive among the big boys in the luxury class.

Comfort

The new 750iL is big in terms of power, but the older versions often came under a lot of criticism when it came to the interior.  Larger bodied individuals often passed up previous cars in the seven series even though the power and handling were second to none, simply because they didn’t feel there was enough room for them in the cockpit.  The previous version of the seven series also came under some criticism for not having the seat adjustments in positions that were convenient enough for a larger person to adjust without a struggle.

BMW has reacted to criticisms of the previous model's interior by improving on the cab's head and leg room space. The arrangement of the control panel has also been made to please the driver.

BMW has truly taken into account the drivers comfort with the new 750iL, taking appropriate ergonomic design heavily into account for the seating to ensure that everyone who takes a spin in this top of the line luxury car will get out with no aches and pains no matter how long they happened to be behind the wheel.

Behind the Wheel

Incredible, almost space age options take the driving experience and the luxury car’s handling to unimaginable new levels. The driver has now more buttons to press for more features such as side view cameras, night vision, rear wheel drive and pedestrian detection.

Driving dynamics are taken to another level with improved control with individually operating electronic dampers as well as anti-roll technology.  With the new technology in place the 750iL also out performs the competition in wet conditions as well.

BMW has always been a force to be reckoned with in the world of luxury cars, but even they seem to have outdone themselves with the new 750iL.For eighty thousand dollars you get more than the price value as it is a real pleasure to be in this car whether it is moving or standing still.
